The concept is in vatted in the band's name "Dharma Paax". Dharma means "Duty” in Sanskrit, the language of the Vedic Culture of ancient India. Paax means "Music" in Maya, the ancient language of Mesoamerica. Put together means “Musical Duty” “Dharma Paax". We believe that it is our duty to use music as the main tool to put consciousness in people, to open their eyes to problems and solutions of our everyday life, to empower our communities with knowledge, respect for mother earth, and every living being in the universe. Our music is bilingual (English/Spanish) with a fusion of genres (tribal/cumbia/punk rock/reggae/metal) that can appeal to a different variety of audience in a wide range of age, ethnicity, traditions, and believes. In our songs we embrace the message of love, compassion, action, and consciousness in general.

Mitchell 'Mitch' Johnson is a singer-songwriter and folk fingerstyle and flatpicking guitarist from San Antonio. After the disbanding of his local group 'The Roaches' Mitch began his current project and persona as Mitch Duke a folk inspired act not unlike his all-time heroes; Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Paul Simon, and Leo Kottke. His nostalgic originals, and his covers obscure, Mitch brings a new flavor to Texas Music and the current offering of local musicians to watch. A must see.

If you've ever been to a Wrevlonne show, chances are you saw people dancing - and that's absolutely the way it's supposed to be. Wrevlonne sounds like Revlon, fittingly - an embellished, musical way to find beauty in this crazy, mixed-up world. They formed in San Antonio, Texas, in 2022, and immediately began making their mark on the musical landscape. Sonically, Wrevlonne blends modern indie with 80's-influenced new wave and post-punk, adding a touch of surf and psychedelia into the mix. Soundscapes are simultaneously dreamy and upbeat, with hooks galore to pull the listener into a unique sound that is absolutely their own. Tight rhythms and textured guitars get bodies moving while Eddie Wagner's one-of-a-kind baritone vocal stylings and lyrics paint pictures of love and life through intimate portraits.

The original band was Sakura Rocks performing Japanese pop covers for the Akimatsuri Fall Festival held by the Japanese American Association in San Antonio. Ichiro Kurokawa, one of the original members of Sakura Rocks had the idea to give it more of a punk spin thus changing the name to Sakura PunX in late 2023. Ichiro humbly giving direction to members in the band that would come and go has managed to keep the band going for years. Sakura Rocks and Sakura PunX give the people in San Antonio a taste of the Japanese music scene and would have your head bopping whether rock or punk or even the traditional nostalgic Enka genre turned into ska! This one is a band you can't miss!
